Who is She: Lucretia is the Roman wife of Batiatus. Throughout the series, she often watches the gladiators practice from the balcony of the ludus while chatting with her companions. Her personal servant is Naevia, and she takes care of most of Lucretia’s needs. Lucretia has a very big dislike for Spartacus, as she sees him as bad luck because ever since he came into their possession, bad things had started to happen.
Just like her husband Batiatus, she is very deceptive — often doing underhanded things in an attempt to further her and her husband’s goals. She makes a friend out of Ilithyia (wife of Glaber) and is adored by Batiatus’s arch enemy Solonius, who often makes obvious passes at her.
Lucretia has a very big sexual appetite for gladiator Crixus. Often when she is on the balcony, she is looking at him in secret. Lucretia sends Naevia frequently to summon Crixus for private sex sessions and forces him to partake. Eventually, she gets pregnant with his baby as well.
Though “friends” with Ilithyia, she ends up growing a strong dislike for her, and constantly tries to take advantage of her. This is partly because Ilithyia has an attraction for Crixus. When Ilithyia asks for a private sexual session with Crixus, Lucretia gets furious and ends up tricking her into sleeping with Spartacus by forcing them both to wear masks during the encounter. Lucretia ends up finding out that Crixus does not love her and agrees to his death through gladiatorial battle. In the end, however, Crixus survives and kills her.
Actor Information: Lucy Lawless was born on March 29, 1968 at Mount Albert, Auckland, New Zealand. Her film career started back in around 1987 and later on she became very well-known for having played the part of Xena the Warrior Princess.
