The newest segment of the beloved STARZ Network Spartacus series is coming out soon — Spartacus: Vengeance. The release date is near and with all the wonderment about the new star Liam McIntyre taking the spot of the beloved Andy Whitfield, who unfortunately died from cancer, people will get to see how he takes on the new lead role of Spartacus. As per the websites synopsis of this new series:

The second season of Spartacus will be called Gods of the Arena. It’s a prequel to Spartacus: Blood and Sand — and should be around six (6) episodes long. I’m very much looking forward to it myself, as I’m sure the rest of you are. We are still awaiting a release date.

Before Spartacus struck down his first opponent in the arena, there were many gladiators who passed though the gates onto the sand. “Spartacus: Gods of the Arena,” the highly anticipated prequel to Starz’ hit series “Spartacus: Blood and Sand,” tells the story of the original Champion of the House of Batiatus: Gannicus (Dustin Clare) in a more ruthless time before Spartacus’ arrival where honor was just finding it’s way into the arena.
